I don't know about you, but I hate the idea of spending £6-20 (or more!) on a mascara. They seem to dry out really quickly, and so far I haven't found one that I absolutely love that justifies the price tag. I thought I'd share with you my two favourite SUPER-cheapy ones, which I find actually do the job really well on a day-to-day basis.
You can pick up Natural Collection's Lashbuild Mascara in black or a dark brown shade from Boots, and whilst this isn't a waterproof formula, I don't find that it smudges much at all if I just have it on for an evening. The wide applicator makes sure a lot of product gets onto the lashes, which gives quite a good thickening effect, even though the product doesn't boast that it would do anything of the sort! I wouldn't recommend applying more than one coat with this mascara as then it does get a bit clumpy, but generally this is a very decent mascara, and one I will always have in my make-up bag.
NYC's Showtime mascara is a waterproof formula, and it's available at Superdrug. This mascara will not budge or smudge throughout a full working day, and it gives a reasonable lengthening and thickening effect. I would say this mascara lacks nothing that many of the drugstore mascaras in the £6-9 range offer. Nothing groundbreaking, but very very good for the price of under two pounds! Have you tried either of these mascaras? Have you found a higher-price one that really justifies the price? I'd love to know!
