Months should literally not be allowed to pass as quickly has February just has. I actually wrote the title of this post as 'January Beauty Favourites' before realising that a whole month has pretty much passed me by without me realising! (It also means I'm one month closer to the wedding, which is coming up so fast - I'll be sure to write another wedding-planning-related post soon for those of you who find that interesting). Anyhow, I've rummaged through all my beauty bits and picked out the products I've been constantly using during February.
First up, Organic Surge has impressed me again with their Extra Care Hydrating Eye Cream * which is pretty much the perfect eye cream for me. It's in a little pump bottle, has no scent and is cooling and calming to apply. My under-eyes are far more hydrated than they would normally be at this time of the year.
I've been testing Claudia Louch's High Definition Liquid Foundation * during February and it's up there with the best of the bases for me. The colour (N45 cool neutral) is a little dark for me, so I've been mixing in bit of a lighter foundation, but that's the only niggle I have. It's full coverage but easily blendable, long-lasting on my combination skin and gives as good of a natural finish as you could hope for from a full-coverage foundation. The price-tag means I'll be unlikely to purchase again, but if you're looking to splash on a high-end base, this is lovely stuff.
For months I didn't use anything but my Marc Jacobs Lolita palette for my eyes (I've now hit pan on most of the shadows *sob*) but during February I've rediscovered my MAC neutral palette. I've recently decided I'm going to be doing my bridal makeup myself (and my Mum's) and it's got to be MAC for the shadows really! I'm thinking about using woodwinked, wedge, mulch and mystery to create a defined bronzed look but if you have any tutorials or ideas please let me know.
You probably know I love my facemasks, and Quick Fixes' Purifying Charcoal Mask * is my new mid-week go-to. It's a bargain at £4.99 and really makes your skin feel alive again! They've got a whole range for different skin concerns as well so I'm sure I'll be trying a few from this range.
I've used the same blush every single day in February, which is kind of ridiculous! Hourglass is my favourite brand for powders, especially their blushes, but I didn't have something suitable for the winter months. I picked up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It gives the most natural flush colour, and because it's infused with light-reflecting particles, it gives a subtle glow as well.
If you've done a February Favourites post or video feel free to link it below, or just let me know your favourites for the month in the comments.
